The State of Kuwait was in a race with time to host the Fifth Annual Gulf Cooperation Council Summit in November 1984. At that time, there was no place in Kuwait that was large enough and adequately organized to host the Summit. It was then when the late Mr. Abdul Razzaq Abdul Hameed Al-Sane (May Allah have mercy on him) was requested by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, the Late Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (May Allah have mercy on him), to build a convention centre next to the Regency Hotel to host the Summit. The required timeframe was very tight, and the task was very challenging. Multiple teams were immediately to start the work. The tight timeframe meant the teams were required to work non-stop 24 hours a day. Under the leadership and direct supervision of Mr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Sane, the project was completed in a record time of seven months and 13 days. This achievement marks an important milestone in our company’s history.
